What is AMP

The principal mechanism of the unique and proprietary B4C diffusion technology is the migration of boron atoms into the metal substrate combining with available iron at the desired depth to achieve the desired properties. The resulting diffused layer is comprised of a Fe2B ceramic increasing hardness from a range of 300HK – 430 HK before up to 1,850HK – 2,200HK after. The treated surface is 40-60% boron which is known to have the lowest coefficient of friction of all the elements and when a treated surface wears against itself, it results in a CoF of .01 @15,000 psi.
